I belong to Cee Photography group where we are given questions from week to week and show up usually on Monday. Most Monday’s I am work and by the time I get home I forget about my commitment and then remember on Wednesday. Recently she asked us what picture we had on our monitors. I visited another person and it didn’t dawn on me to post something. So I started looking at trees, mountain, stream, creek, rocks and suddenly a flood of emotion came up as I miss going to these places I once visited in my life time… mainly Pennsylvania.
One year we went to visit relative in Lancaster, instead of taking the turnpike we took Route 30, it was so beautiful the next turn was so amazing the scenery would put you on a natural high. I remember passing Buchanan National Park, the trees were just gorgeous.
I love seeing houses like this. Colonial style, you go to one town and drive into the next town and not even know it. The country side you might run into the an Amish carriage or the Mennonites. My aunt use to tell me you could tell if they had pole in the front some would have phones out side, others would not have electricity. We visited a farm once and they had lots of kerosene lanterns hanging from the ceilings.
How simply they live and they grow their own food and at times you would see them at farmer’s market. I love seeing the old farm stone houses or a barn or two with stone basement. Just does something to me. So breath taking and the roads wind around the next bend not knowing what you will see next
Quite the adventure, and how I would love to return there soon.
