You can have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what is it? Sushi? Scotch Tape? This is hard question, asked a co worker and she mentioned money. But having money unlimited doesn’t always bring happiness unless you decide to use it to help others. That reminds me of movie called ” Christmas Angel” with KC Clyde, Kari Hawker, and Bruce Davison.  I can’t think of anything temporal, but I would like to have my eyes to see and be in good health to serve others.

Teleportation or flying? I would prefer to fly. The TV show, “Bewitched”, she  flew and disappeared so I think I would rather go that way then have to find a station that had teleportation. Angels come and go and they probably fly in from heaven or the 3rd dimension we can’t see. Harry Potter flew in a car so by the time they develop this we may be flying in our cars as well.

Would you rather live where it only snows or the temperature never falls below 100 degrees? I don’t care for the cold weather the older I get. I love the hot weather and have often said that to people who ask me how I am like the weather. Then I preceded to tell them why are you eating so much meat in the summer time. Meat holds heat and makes you hotter in the summer. Save if for the winter instead. Eat fruits and vegetables in the summer time and the heat won’t bother you as much.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  I went out to eat my lunch in my car today so I could enjoy the sun and the hot weather. I knew it was suppose to rain, but didn’t know it was going to feel like I was in a hurricane. At one point I thought my car was going to be picked up because of so much wind. Then the rain was coming down so fast and furiously that I started feeling that my car was going thru a car wash. That is how fast the rain came. Then it started to hail, it was bouncing off my back window class and roof of my car.  I said a short prayer that it would let up so I could reach the door to get back to work on time. Sure enough he did and I am now safe inside but the air condition is to cold in here so I do have chill as I sit here and write  this out for you all.

one writer’s process…

Artist are sharp-eyed observers, spies, Eavesdroppers. We watch, listen, and absorb things that others miss. We learn a great deal about the world, people, and human nature that way. But that’s not enough.”

We have to blend that knowledge with what we know about ourselves and what we want to say through our art- our ideas, wisdom, and understand.  by Lauren Wolk

Interview by Pat Scales in magazine called Book Links page 4-7

I was reading Book Link when this article above caught my eye and mind and fell in love with her quote above. I felt connected right away. So I decided to share.

Create a sentence with the words “neon green” and train”. We decided to take a ride on the train towards Pittsburgh. In the evening we started for the diner car only to find that all the chairs in the covers were neon green and carpet was navy blue.

Other than your cell phone what can you always be found with? I think it be a pen in hand, I am either see something that I want to remember or  writing someone email, address or phone number down or drawing something that I want to work into something in my house hold plans.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  We had branch conference this week  at church.  During one of  the combined meetings someone mentioned that they call their children, grandchildren and other relatives on Sunday to catch up and see how they are doing. I decided to do that this past Sunday. Found that my granddaughter lost two teeth, she is going to be Brownie next year and completed her Daisy badges and she may be placed in excel class. I don’t usually call every week as I don’t like to interfere but I talked to my daughter as well and she has had some exciting things happening at her job that she is part of. So it was nice to hear what she was up too.

Complete this sentence: This sandwich could really use some… horseradish mustard. I grew up on  Oscar Meyer Liverworts and horseradish mustard with bit of sliced raw onion on sandwich. I used to take this for lunch in high school. Don’t eat this anymore but I did at one time.

What is your least favorite candy? I have never acquired a taste for malted balls. But now I don’t eat candy for three reason 1) my heart 2) my eyes and 3) my teeth.

What sign are you? Do you believe in astrology? I am a Sagittarius. According to a google definition I am suppose to be: Wild, feisty, independent and exciting, Sagittarius women are arguably the wild child of the zodiac. Adventurous, fun loving, sociable and friendly, they are typically determined to live life to the fullest. I can also say I am on the right side of the brain, not left (Logic). Enough said if you can’t figure it out its not my fault.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Well we are slowly moving into house that we will move into when we retire completely. I have been excited about painting inside. My husband had bed that he paid .25 for when he was kid. His mother antique it to make it look like wood. I never cared for the color and asked if he minded if i painted it dark blue.

The house we moved into had previously been a bachelor pad. So most of the walls are pearl gray color. Not my first color I would live with.

After painting the bed frame. I decided it would look really cool in red /white and blue.

I will take picture and put it up later so you can see it. I didn’t or hadn’t plan this until I was painting and the idea came into my head.

So I am going keep the colors of walls in this room and let the accessories dress up the room . I am really excited about this. I am also going to make curtains out of tea stained ticking. I have country red pillows, blue and white plaid bed cover and I want to add some fabric that has stars in it. Will have to make trip to Joann to see if I can find something to tie this all together.   So that is why I am happy and excited to decorate our new home. I showed my girl friend and she said that she loved the curtain choice and it would be on the  primitive side. Which I do like. So I am excited and hope my quest enjoy their new room when they come to visit.

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get? If I didn’t have to worry about my teeth I would probably pick out something sweet like Philadelphia Sticky Buns with butter. But these are not really healthy and would definitely make you over weight. But if I picked something practical I would pick sweet naval oranges.

List things or events that changed your life? I have had several things that have been placed on my path thru out my life.

I was hit by a car when I was three months pregnant, Was a little bruised up from hitting the pavement but manage to survive it.

One time I was trying to pass semi and my grandmother was with me, she didn’t scold me, but I ended up going between the semi and car so I was actually going down the yellow line which was scary between a car and semi at the same time. It was nerve wracking. but I just had to push the metal on the pedal.

I haven’t really been in any other kind of danger that I can think of. I did have car accident but it wasn’t my fault, a drunk driver hit me. I had just dropped a girl off after attending church and I was heading back up route 29 when this car side swiped me. The ambulance came, I requested to go to Princeton hospital instead of the Peoria Hospital. My car was total, the dashboard came back 3 feet and I received scar on my knee that I still have to this day and pains me if I run into table leg with it. The only thing the drunk driver had was thumb hurt. I was in the hospital for 4 days and then had to return as I got blood poising. Then I was laid up at home could not sleep in our bed as it was too high off the ground so slept in the living room on sofa bed until I could get around better.

Complete this sentence: Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s… a hot air balloon. I met fellow that loved hot air balloons and he was from Iowa. Every summer there is display of Hot Air Balloons that comes to Indianola, Warren County, Iowa. There is Facebook page you can join here is link to it: and then their is link to the website for more information:     So if you need a family outing to go to they have one planned from July 27, 2018 to August  4, 2018. I know they have craft show that is usually going on so there is something for everyone. They offer rides on balloons too.

My first encounter with hot balloons was when I would visit my Aunt and Uncle. They lived in Chester County, Pennsylvania out in the country. When I was outside I could hear the pumping of the air and would wait to see what it was and it would a hot air balloon going over their house. I always thought it was such a beautiful site. The next time I have experience with this was I was driving home and going thru Peoria Illinois and could see one up in the air off of route 40. Memories flooded back in as I watched while I was driving and wondering where they had come from and where they were going.
