What household chore do you absolutely hate doing? Well when we had a cat it was the cat box. But now we don’t have the cat. I think I hate doing dishes every single night. Wish my husband would give me a hand. I can remember my dad helping my mother after us girls were out of the house. But no such luck at my house.

At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?

How many times have you moved in the last ten years? I married my second husband and we been living in his house the past 30 years. We went on vacation to look at housing in Colorado. I don’t think that is going to happen as the prices of homes out their are very expensive and I don’t want to go in to debt during my retirement years. Our present home is paid for plus we are surrounded by woods.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  I read on Pinterest that if you put saran wrap over the section that was pulled off the tree your bananas would not turn brown as fast and it worked at my house. Then I read if you hang your onions in nylon stockings with knot between them and hang them up they would last longer. I am going to do this just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Do you ever sit on a park bench for more than ten minutes? no, I feel like all I do these days is work and go home and I don’t seem to have social life. sitting on a park bench this time of  year would be chilli. I would rather be walking then sitting.

When you lose electricity in a storm, do you light the candles, turn on the flashlight or use your cell phone for light? When our lights go out depending on the time of day or night, we get candles out and we each have a flashlight next to our bed and in our cars if the need arises that we would need one. Recently my husband goes to bed before I do and I have been using my phone to get into the bedroom so I don’t have to turn on any lights. He is light sleeper so try not to turn any lights on.

Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers? I would like to be  given $100,000 to brighten, surprise or bless others. I know this brings more joy then receiving $10,000.. There is this really really neat Christmas Movie I love to watch it is called “Christmas Angel” here is link to it, as there are about three movies with that name: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/201747258285551038/  or here is trailer you can watch toohttps://www.christianfilmdatabase.com/review/christmas-angel-2/

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?

Well my cholesterol is up so that means some changes in my life, drinking water, exercising, and eating more fiber, and fruits and vegetables. My latest thing I did that surprised myself is I love to have popcorn for snack. So I cooked some  kernels in brown lunch bag in the microwave. Normally I would have shaken the salt shaker over this, but instead I decided to try sprinkling some “Mrs Dash” the original recipe. It was not to bad.and I didn’t miss the salt at all.

Share Your World 10/30/17

I was ready to fill this out on Monday but couldn’t find the questions, so now I am couple days late. Oh well, no ones going to care.

Where do you eat breakfast? I usually make a smoothie and drink it in the car every morning. The days I am not working, I may wait until 10 am to think about getting something to eat or drink cup of tea or hot chocolate depending on how cold the house is or what my body is craving.

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want have a evening with?  I can’t think of any one in this world. But I would like to talk to Samuel Baguley he was my great grandfather and he was born and raised in England and came to America and married and I would not be here if he hadn’t started the whole thing. He is in heaven so meeting some of my relatives would be neat, I think. I would love to know there stories.

If you could be a tree or plant, what would you be?  I would be a tree. Trees can live a very long time, where as plants don’t last very long.  In fact when I went to Alaska back in 7th Grade with my grandmother, we were on an ocean liner and they had a costume party one night. They handed out crepe paper. Guess what I have always wanted to be?  A tree, I think it stems back from my early years of watching the Wizard of Oz and seeing the trees that had faces on them and would talk. I won a prize for the most original. Then when my daughter was about 5 years old, I made a costume for her too and she won.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.  My husband and I made soap a couple of weeks a go without essential oil just to see if we could actually make it. I had made soap many years ago but this was entirely different way I made my batch.

It did turn out and then after week of sitting around we decided we better cut it before it got to hard to cut. I am really looking forward to making more, but add essential oil  next time around. I think it would be great to give as Christmas Gifts  . We already make our own laundry detergent. It’s fun to make items you can actually use and give as gifts too.

Was school easy or difficult for you? How so?  From my early years school was hard, I was sent to speech therapy during one of my regular classes. Because I could pronounce words right.

List some of your favorite types of animals. My favorite are cats and dogs. However I do love birds.. My grandmother always fed the birds when I lived with her and she would talk to some of them and tell them they were “pretty bird”. They lived outside. We never had any  that were the inside type. In my later years I think Giraffes are kind of neat when you go the zoo. My husband loves and feeds birds religiously.I have grown to love birds as well. When we are traveling we look for them.

What is your favorite large city you have been to? What is the one thing you remember most? I have been to many large cities. I used to live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for about 10 years. But I have also traveled to many large cities such as London, Paris, Rome, Madrid. But if I had my pick I would like to go back to London as love the old architecture, the buildings with gargoyles and other neat features they put on buildings.

What is your favorite outdoor activity? My favorite outdoor activity is sitting around a  fire cooking marshmallows with family members particularly my grandchildren.

In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger? I use to love to drive but now I like being passenger and read books, it is less stressful.

If you could have three wishes granted for you alone, what would they be?

My first wish would be to have a mother / daughter relationship with my daughter.

My second wish is to travel and visit some of my girl friends and treat them to dinner and enjoy each others company.

My third wish is to be more spiritual and be in tune with Heavenly Father.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?    I actually have photo this week. I am in charge of an Art Show we have this yearly at our library where I work. I am the Art Coordinator. We are going on our 8th year. I actually made a collage- I was inspired by my parents wedding day – they were in this cool car and I have always liked the color of it and the window. I think it is 1940 DeSoto. My parents teenage years were during the 1940’s. My dad met mom at a  skating roller rink.  They were married in April 1950 I went on line to see what was going on during that era and this is what I came up with . They are still living and mom turned 91 in June and Dad will turn 91 on Oct. 31, yes he is Halloween baby. Mom used to like to jitterbug and dance around the house. This is honoring them.20170926_174145

Friday Pizza Night

Image

Friday is pizza night at our house. I usually get the dough out from the freezer and set it out till I leave for work in the morning.. Then it goes back into the refrigerator. When hubby comes home he pulls it out until I come home.

I rolled out my dough on the counter with flour underneath it,  I rolled it till it was about 16 inch to fit on my round pizza pan.. Then instead of spraying my pan, I  decided to try putting flour on instead. Then layed out my dough so I could dress it. My husband likes anchovies fillets and I like to keep  his side separate from mine as I don’t care for them at all.  Last week one got on my side and it was yuck.  After my dough is on the pan, I spray it with olive oil on the dough, sprinkle some Italian Seasonings on  top. then I laid out hubby pepperoni.on his side of the pizza.

So tonight I tried something different. I cut very thin rings of onions and sauteed them in olive oil in a black cast iron pan to they were soft, lightly browned, continuing to turn them over so they would not burn on one side. Then I added some sliced button mushrooms and sauteed them and added some garlic and stirred a few more minutes and divided them between the pizzas.

This is my side of the pizza –, his pizza is lined with pepperoni all the ways around so I could keep his toppings inside of that therefore and hopefully I would not run into one his anchovy fillets.

then we cook our pizza for 8 minutes with out the cheese on it in a 425 degree oven in the middle shelf. When it comes out we cover it first with mozzarella cheese that we shred ourselves. I like to use a salad shooter as it is less work.

Then I like to sprinkle on the  parmesan cheese. Everytime I use this I think about my mom. She told me when she was little girl her father would take her and her sister down to see his mother, she was 100% Italian Grandmother. Her father would buy piece of parmesan  cheese to take and give to his mother. Since that time she told me, I quit using the process parmesan cheese and like to buy the real cheese myself.

By the way if you ever visit Wisconsin they are known for their cheese. So now when I go up there I usually get two chucks parmesan cheese  and it will last me all year long.   as you can see I didn’t cover the edges where the pepperoni was as I wanted to know how to cut this when it coves out of the oven.. Then after putting the two cheeses on , I put it back in for 7-8 minutes to melt the cheese over the pizza. Don’t forget to spriggle Italian Seasonings mixture over this. You can buy it already made at  Dollar Tree or grocery store will carry this as well.  Or buy it from natural food store. Come to think of it I did buy mine from Austin Parker a natural food store where one can buy it by the ounce. .Then I poured it into the container I had at home. This is my finished product.
